Turkish Oil Wrestling

We all can not say that we enjoy watching sports. I have become fond of football or what we call in the states States soccer. Players always happen to take of there shirts and wear the cutest shorts. However, there is one sport that has been making some buzz, and really should be an Olympic sport. This homoerotic sport, (yes its homoerotic and you will see below) has been making a quite big buzz in most of the blogs.  And no i am not talking about diving  again, although i love seeing guys in their tiny speedos. We are talking about Turkey's national sport Oil Wrestling. Which has been around since the 1300's. If you haven't heard about it before let me explain it. The hunky and handsome wrestler drench themselves in olive oil. then wrestle like any other wrestling match however to win one must effectively put his arm through the kisbelt (pants) unlike the Olympic version where the winner holds onto the kisbelt. Take a look below and tell me what you think of Oil Wrestling and if it should be an Olympic sport. As always rate, comment, share, like, and most of all enjoy!

Kushti Wrestlers

Pehlwani or many know as Kushti wrestling is an ancient form of wrestling practiced throughout South Asia. Became developed during the Mughal era with the combination of Malla-Yuddha (traditional South Asian form of combat wrestling) and Iranian Varzesh-e Bastani (Ancient Persian sport, traditionally martial arts and a style of wrestling)
Kushti wrestling takes place in clay or a dirt pit, that has been mixed with ghee among other things and tended to before each practice. Traditional Indian wrestling is not just a sport but a sub-culture. Where wrestlers live and train together and follow strict rules on everything from what they can eat to what they can do in their spare time. Drinking, smoking, drinking and even sex are normally off limits. The focus is living a pure life, building strength, and honing their wrestling skills.
Wrestlers belong to gyms called akharas; wrestlers diets consists of milk, almonds, ghee, eggs, and chapattis. Each wrestler had a job to do in preparing meals. The sport now a days is on the decline, but there are still many akharas left ad people dedicated to keep this ancient part of Indian culture alive.
